Accessibility on our website

Declaration on accessibility

We endeavour to make our website accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act as amended to implement the European Accessibility Directive (EU) RL 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services.
This declaration on accessibility applies to www.hoteldorfstadl.at

Note: This accessibility statement relates exclusively to our website. It makes no statement about the structural accessibility of our premises.

Current status of compatibility with the requirements
Our website is partially compatible with conformity level AA of the ‘Guidelines for accessible web content - WCAG 2.2’ or with the applicable European standard EN 301 549 due to the following incompatibilities and/or exceptions.

Non-accessible content on this website

The content listed below is not yet accessible for the following reasons:

(a) Incompatibility with accessibility regulations

1.1.1 - This success criterion is currently not fully met, as the website contains a large number of images that still lack alternative descriptions. We are constantly working on adding these captions.
1.3.1 - Some visually highlighted text areas are not programmatically labelled as headings. The heading structure is being optimised step by step.
1.3.3 - Individual links or buttons are only differentiated by colour, which means that the success criterion is not met.
1.3.5 - Some form fields - especially in the contact form - do not contain ‘autocomplete’ attributes and therefore do not fulfil the criterion.
1.4.1 - Links, for example in continuous text or the navigation, are sometimes only highlighted in colour. This does not fulfil the success criterion.
1.4.4 - Text elements cannot be enlarged easily everywhere, which is due to the current programming.
1.4.13 - Some navigation content only appears on hover, but is not accessible via the keyboard.
2.2.2 - Some elements do not have controls for pausing or exiting. (sliders, carousels, automatically refreshing elements, etc)
2.4.1 - Ski links for skipping recurring content are not available.
2.4.3 - The order of the keyboard navigation is sometimes illogical or gets lost when closing elements.
2.4.4 - Some links and buttons are not sufficiently described and therefore not clearly identifiable for screen readers.
2.4.6 - Headings and form elements are not always named clearly or descriptively.
2.4.7 - The focus display for keyboard navigation is not always visible.
2.4.11 - The focus disappears when menus or operating elements such as accordions are not open.
2.5.3 - Partially missing visible labelling of control elements, which is reflected in the accessible name.
2.5.8 - Some buttons or clickable elements are smaller than the recommended minimum size of 24 x 24 pixels.
3.3.1 - Incorrect inputs are not clearly recognised or described as such.
3.3.2 - Form elements are not consistently labelled or explained.
3.3.3 - No specific instructions are given for correcting errors.
3.3.4 - Important data entries cannot be checked or cancelled before sending.
3.3.7 - Users sometimes have to enter the same information multiple times.
3.3.8 - Forms contain CAPTCHA queries that are not accessible.
4.1.2 - Not all buttons or interactive elements communicate their status (e.g. expanded or selected) correctly in the programme.
4.1.3 - Changes such as progress indicators or errors are not automatically transmitted to assistive technologies.

b) Disproportionate burden

1.2.1 - Embedded videos are hosted and published on the YouTube platform. No transcripts or content descriptions are currently available for some of these videos.
1.2.2 - Some embedded YouTube videos do not have subtitles, making important content inaccessible to deaf users. The success criterion is therefore not met.
1.2.3 - Audio descriptions cannot currently be provided for certain embedded YouTube videos.
1.2.5 - Audio descriptions are not available for some embedded videos. Due to the disproportionate effort involved, there are currently no plans to improve this.

We are of the opinion that the removal would represent a disproportionate burden in terms of accessibility regulations.

c) The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legal provisions

There are older documents and content available on the website that are not accessible. As these were published before 28 June 2025, they are exempt from the Accessibility Act and no comprehensive change is currently planned for them.

The website contains documents and content from third-party providers that are neither developed, financed nor controlled by us. No statement can be made regarding the compatibility of this third-party content with the accessibility provisions and it is therefore also exempt from the requirements of the Accessibility Act.

Declaration on accessibility

This declaration was created for the first time on 05/05/2025 and is continuously developed with maintenance processes, technical adjustments and content maintenance. The technical and content-related assessment of compatibility with EU law was carried out in the form of a check in accordance with the level AA guidelines of WCAG 2.2.

Our website is continuously maintained and developed. Usability and accessibility are therefore very important to us. However, if you recognise any barriers on our website that hinder or restrict your use, please let us know at the following email address: dorfstadl@hoteldorfstadl.at. We will then check your enquiry immediately and adapt the options to the legal requirements.
